Dave Stewart Eurythmics feat Vanessa Amorosi

 

In the midst of summer, on July 21, Dave Stewart will perform for the first time in the Baltics at the Sigulda Castle with the legendary Eurythmics classic catalogue.
As part of this project, only 9 concerts will take place throughout Europe, so the choice of Sigulda is comparable to a miracle.

 

 

The multi-talented, instrumentalist, performer, composer and producer Dave Stewart, together with the no less gifted charismatic singer and musician Annie Lennox, formed the duo Eurythmics in the early 1980s, which over the course of 10 years of the main activity created a series of hits that have not lost their freshness even today and are at the same time considered iconic. At hat time the band was something of a UFO. With its androgynous looks, seductive synth-pop, thundering rhythms and steely vocals, Eurythmics revolutionized the dancefloor, selling over 100 million albums worldwide. The chemistry between the two artists, who began as lovers, is complete. Lennox is an impressively charismatic narrator, while Stewart transforms chords into experiences and melodies into raw emotion.

 

With the blessing of his longtime creative partner Annie Lennox, who no longertours, Stewart has created a group that unites professional musicians and singers. Stewart has chosen the talented Australian singer-songwriter Vanessa Amorosi for the role of the main soloist, while he himself has limited to his usual guitar playing.
"Choosing a band made up of exceptional women is my way of paying tribute to my great friend and collaborator Annie Lennox," comments Stewart.

 

Speaking about the forthcoming dates Dave Stewart shares:
"I can’t wait to be back on stage again with the incredible Vanessa Amorosi and my amazing band for these European shows. We've had a blast over the last year or two, playing more than 60 shows across the US and Europe, and the reaction blows the roof off each night. It’s like we’re all in a mass celebration of these EURYTHMICS songs I love to play, and that have become a part of each audience member’s life story. I’m really looking forward to doing it all over again this summer.”
